Welcome to CreateSpace

Looking for a space to chill, work on your own art projects, explore new creative processes and meet new people? Look no further!

headspace Sunshine is excited to be facilitating CreateSpace on Thursdays, a free program running between 4:30-6PM in the Visy Cares Hub from March 2022! Local artists will be invited to facilitate workshops where you can build your creative skills. If you're not into that, you can simply use the space to work on your own art - it's chill. If you're looking to find out more, check out our schedule below. Otherwise, we're happy to answer any questions via headspaceSunshineCommunity@orygen.org.au!

Crochet is a great way to be creative and get relaxed at the same time! At Createspace we will be taking on the basics of crochet and learning the skills you’ll need to make granny squares, toys and even hats!

Janssen's Creative Writing Workshop has been postponed until further notice - we'll keep you updated!

I’m Janssen (she/they). I have a BA in writing and editing, as well as cinema studies. I love storytelling in all forms, and I encourage others to use stories to process their experiences and grow.

This creative writing workshop will explore how storytelling can be used as an outlet to process our emotions and experiences. We welcome everyone, from beginners to writers. This session will be a supportive space and you can choose whether you want to share your writing with others. This workshop will encourage you to exercise creativity, ask questions, receive feedback, and jumpstart your next creative project!

I’m Noni, a spoken word poet and facilitator and have been for the past 5 years. I’m a passionate storyteller that loves to encourage people to express themselves through the spoken word in whatever way they feel like. This session will be an introductory workshop to kick-start your spoken word journey. This spoken word workshop will explore how to use your written words to create and perform pieces to express yourselves, both in structured and unstructured ways. Everyone is welcome to join, from beginners to seasoned performers. This is a safe space to test your boundaries and see what you’re comfortable with sharing.
