Meet our YAC team at headspace Miranda
Our team of YAC's aka Youth Access Clinicians provide young people with an invaluable service at headspace Miranda. They are the first person a young person will speak with when visiting our centre and work with a young person to give them the support they need.
They wanted to share a little bit of information about themselves, how they look after their own mental health and why they love working at headspace Miranda.
Your favourite colour? Purple.
What do you do to improve your mental health? Go to the gym, go for a run, walk along the beach, spend time with friends, bake cupcakes, listen to music, learn new things, SMILE.
Why do you like working at headspace Miranda? headspace Miranda consists of a supportive and collaborative team which are able to work together to ensure the needs of a young person are met. Our service is unique and is able to focus on multiple aspects of a young person's life, and involve them as much as possible in the decision making process.
Your favourite colour? Blue.
What do you do to improve your mental health? Listening to music, socialising with my family and friends, exercise regularly and ensuring that I maintain a balanced and healthy diet.
Why do you like working at headspace Miranda? Working with young people is extremely rewarding. We have a great team who work onsite at headspace Miranda and together, we are able to support young people to achieve their goals and improve their mental health and wellbeing. Most importantly, we like to have fun when we can!
Your favourite colour? I don't really have a favourite, but I'm going to say Magenta. Majestic magenta!
What do you do to improve your mental health? I stay connected with my friends and family, make sure my physical health is in check and prioritise fun - you are never too old to play.
Why do you like working at headspace Miranda? We are a fun team and it's awesome to work with such passionate professionals. It's also a privilege to meet young people and their families for the first time, hear their stories and see them move meaningfully towards where they'd like to be.
