  • If you’re aged 12 to 25 years then you can get help from headspace Bathurst. headspace offers a range of supports for young people including general health, mental health, education and employment and alcohol and other drug services. headspace Bathurst can be found on the corner of Havannah and Piper streets, call us today on 6338 1100 to make an appointment or visit headspace.org.au for more information.


  • Not quite ready to talk in person? eheadspace is a confidential, free and secure space where young people 12 - 25 or their family can chat, email or speak on the phone with a qualified youth mental health professional. eheadspace is also a great place for family, friends and carers to have a chat if they’re worried about a young person.


  • Over 25 or under 12 years of age? Marathon Health offers General Mental Wellbeing Services. This program provides access to free and confidential psychological assistance. For more information contact 02 6826 5271.


  • Veritas House Youth Refuge: The youth refuge is a 24 hour crisis service providing short term and emergency accommodation and support for young people between the ages of 16 and 24 years who are vulnerable, homeless or at risk of homelessness. Hours for referral purposes are Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm. Veritas House is located at 106-108 Russell Street, Bathurst and can be contacted on 6332 3882.


  • Veritas Youth Outreach: The Veritas Youth Outreach and Transitional Housing Programs support young people aged 16 to 24 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The service works with young people who require support whilst living at home or are living independently in the Bathurst area. The program aims to assist young people foster a sense of independence and learn the tools to live in the community and maintain a tenancy. The outreach service provides a focus on living skills programs to assist to break down the barriers young people face with accessing suitable accommodation and support services. Hours for referral purposes are Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm. Veritas House is located at 106-108 Russell Street, Bathurst and can be contacted on 6332 3882.


  • General Practitioners (GPs): A GP can provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan which means you are able to claim a Medicare rebate for up to 10 individual or 10 group appointments with an allied mental health service. Your GP can also provide a referral to psychologists, counsellors and social workers in your area.


  • Bathurst After Hours GP Clinic: The Bathurst After Hours GP Clinic provides medical care to patients who have an urgent, non-emergency medical condition and are unable to wait to see their regular GP during normal surgery hours. The clinic is located at the Bathurst Base Hospital. The clinic operates from 3pm until 7pm on weekends and public holidays (excluding Christmas Day and Good Friday).


  • Bathurst After Hours Medical Service: The After Hours Medical Service provides access to medical advice from a local GP.The telephone system operates weeknights 6pm until 8am; Saturday from 12 noon, and 24 hours on Sunday and public holidays. To access this service please call: (02) 6333 2888


  • The24 Hour Mental Health Hotlineis available to anyone. If you have a mental health concern, you can call the Mental Health Line to speak with a mental health professional and be directed to the right care.
